The Federal University, Dutsin -ma, Katsina State  says it has set up a dress code committee to ensure that students of the institution, especially the newly admitted ones, dress decently.
The institution’s Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Adamu Baba-Kutigi, made the disclosure during the matriculation of 5,215 newly admitted students in the university.
He told the students that anyone among them who put up indecent dressings would not be allowed to participate in academic activities, including lectures, seminars and use of library facilities, among others.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor said, “Indecent dressing applies to a mode of dressing thought to be morally offensive, especially because it exposes our nakedness. Let me inform you that the university has banned indecent dressing and students who are guilty of this are to be prevented from participating in academic activities such as lectures, practical exercises, seminars, use of the library facilities, transport facilities, field trips and other facilities, examinations and even matriculation. The institution has set up a Dress Code Committee to ensure decent dressing among its students.”
He also warned them against involvement in cultism and other vices that could lead to their expulsion from the institution.
He declared, “Sanctions which include expulsion from the university also await those involved in cultism and other forms of misconduct such as fighting, stealing and disrespect to constituted authority of the university.”
